Itinerary:

 

Day 1: Marrakech – Ait Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate – Skoura Palm

On the first day of your 5-day luxury Sahara Desert tour from Marrakech, we’ll begin by picking you up from your hotel or riad in Marrakech. Our journey will take us through the breathtaking Tizi N’tichka pass, which sits at an altitude of 2260 meters in the Atlas Mountains. Along the way, you’ll have the opportunity to marvel at the stunning mountain scenery.

Our first major stop will be at the UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou. This ancient fortified village boasts impressive mud-brick architecture and has served as the backdrop for numerous films and TV shows. You’ll have the chance to explore its narrow alleyways and learn about its rich history.

After our visit to Ait Ben Haddou, we’ll stop for a leisurely lunch at a local restaurant, where you can indulge in delicious Moroccan cuisine.

Continuing on our journey, we’ll arrive in Ouarzazate, where you’ll be treated to a fascinating view of the Taourirt Kasbah, a sprawling fortress that was once the residence of the Glaoui family.

Our final destination for the day is Kalaa M’gouna, known as the “Valley of Roses” for its abundant rose cultivation. Here, you’ll enjoy a delicious dinner and spend the night in a luxurious hotel, where you can relax and unwind after an eventful day of exploration.

Day 2: Skoura Palm – Valley Of Roses – Dades Gorge – Tinghir – Todra Gorge

 

After enjoying a hearty breakfast at the hotel in Kalaa Mgouna, we’ll embark on the next leg of our journey. Our first stop will be the Valley of Roses, where you’ll have the opportunity to witness the beautiful rose cultivation that the region is famous for. As we continue our adventure, we’ll venture off-road, offering us the chance to visit a nomadic family living in caves. Here, you can gain insight into their traditional way of life and explore their modest dwellings.

Next, we’ll make our way to the Dades Gorges, where you’ll be awe-struck by the magnificent rock formations that have been sculpted by nature over millennia. These dramatic landscapes are a photographer’s dream and attract visitors from far and wide.

Following our exploration of the Dades Gorges, we’ll head to Boulmane du Dades, a charming town in the Tinghir region, where we’ll stop for a delicious lunch.

In the afternoon, our journey will take us to the Todra Gorges, where you’ll be treated to breathtaking views of towering canyon walls and the winding river below. This natural wonder offers the perfect backdrop for relaxation and reflection.

As the day draws to a close, we’ll enjoy a delightful dinner at a Kasbah hotel, where you’ll spend the night in comfort, surrounded by the beauty of the Moroccan landscape.

Day 3: Todra Gorge – Erfoud – Erg Chebbi (Merzouga)

 

After a refreshing breakfast, we’ll start our day with a leisurely stroll around the picturesque Palm Plantations, offering you the chance to soak in the serene beauty of the Todra River and its surroundings.

Following our morning exploration, we’ll head to Tinjedad, where we’ll enjoy a delicious lunch at a local restaurant, sampling the flavors of authentic Moroccan cuisine.

Our journey continues as we make our way to Erfoud, known for its rich history and local craft workshops. Here, we’ll have the opportunity to visit a fossil craft workshop, where skilled artisans create stunning pieces from ancient fossils found in the region.

Next, we’ll set our sights on the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi, also known as the Merzouga Dunes. Upon arrival, you’ll have the thrilling experience of riding camels for an hour and a half, traversing the majestic sand dunes and taking in the breathtaking desert landscape.

As the day transitions into evening, we’ll gather around a campfire to enjoy a delicious dinner under the starlit sky. You’ll then retire to your traditional nomad tent, where you’ll spend the night immersed in the tranquility of the desert, creating memories that will last a lifetime.

Day 4: Merzouga – Rissani – Alnif – N’kpb – Agdz – Ouarzazate

 

After an early awakening in the Sahara Desert, you’ll have the opportunity to witness the breathtaking sunrise from the top of a towering dune, filling the desert landscape with warm hues of orange and pink. Following this unforgettable experience, you’ll enjoy a hearty breakfast at the camp, surrounded by the serene beauty of the desert.

Once refreshed, you’ll embark on a camel ride back to the hotel, where you can freshen up with a soothing shower before continuing our journey.

Our next destination is Rissani, where you’ll have the chance to explore its vibrant souk, immersing yourself in the bustling atmosphere of this traditional Moroccan market. From there, we’ll proceed to the town of Alnif, renowned for its abundant trilobite fossils, offering a fascinating glimpse into Morocco’s ancient geological history.

Afterwards, we’ll head to N’kob, where you’ll enjoy a delicious lunch, savoring the flavors of local cuisine. Our journey continues as we make our way to Agdez, a picturesque town nestled amidst stunning desert landscapes.

En route, we’ll make a stop to visit the magnificent Kasbah of Tamnougalt, an architectural gem situated amidst the lush palm groves of the Draa Valley. You’ll have the opportunity to explore the intricately designed corridors and courtyards of this historic fortress, gaining insight into Morocco’s rich cultural heritage.

As the day draws to a close, we’ll pass through the scenic Ait Saoun Mountains, offering breathtaking views of the rugged terrain, before reaching our final destination of Ouarzazate. Here, you’ll enjoy a delicious dinner and spend the night in a comfortable hotel, reflecting on the day’s adventures amidst the enchanting Moroccan landscape.

Day 5: Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou – High Atlas Mountains – Marrakech

 

On the final day of our journey, after enjoying a delicious breakfast, you’ll have some leisure time to explore the historic Kasbah of Taourirt and discover the fascinating Atlas Film Studios, where numerous famous movies have been filmed, offering insight into Morocco’s thriving film industry.

Following this, we’ll continue our adventure by traveling to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Ait Benhaddou, a stunning fortified village renowned for its picturesque mud-brick architecture and ancient kasbahs. Here, you’ll have the opportunity to savor a delightful lunch at a local restaurant, indulging in traditional Moroccan cuisine.

Afterwards, we’ll embark on a visit to the majestic Kasbah of Telouet, a historic fortress steeped in rich history and cultural significance. Exploring the labyrinthine corridors and grand courtyards of this architectural marvel, you’ll gain insight into Morocco’s illustrious past.
