Day 1: Marrakech, Ait Ben Hadou Kasbah and Ourazazate
After enjoying a hearty breakfast, we’ll embark on our exciting 10-day journey from Marrakech to Casablanca. Our adventure begins with a pickup from your hotel or riad in Marrakech.
We’ll traverse the majestic Atlas Mountains via the Tizi-Ntichka pass, renowned for its breathtaking panoramic vistas and scattered nomad villages. Along the way, you’ll have the opportunity to immerse yourself in the rich culture and traditions of the Berber communities that call this rugged terrain home.
Our next destination is the iconic Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site steeped in history and charm. This ancient fortress, with its labyrinthine alleyways and towering mud-brick walls, offers a glimpse into Morocco’s storied past. Despite facing the ravages of time and nature, Ait Ben Haddou remains a captivating testament to the region’s architectural prowess.
During our visit to Ait Ben Haddou, you’ll have the chance to explore its narrow streets, marvel at its well-preserved structures, and learn about its fascinating history. This kasbah has been a backdrop for numerous acclaimed films and television shows, adding to its allure and mystique.
After our exploration, we’ll enjoy a delicious lunch at a traditional restaurant frequented by tourists from around the world. Here, you can savor authentic Moroccan cuisine while soaking in the enchanting ambiance of this historic locale.
Following our lunch break, we’ll continue our journey to Ouarzazate, where we’ll spend the night. Ouarzazate is renowned for its film studios, which have played a pivotal role in the production of countless cinematic masterpieces. We’ll have the opportunity to visit these studios and gain insight into the movie-making process, further enhancing our appreciation for this vibrant city.
As the day draws to a close, we’ll settle into our accommodations in Ouarzazate, reflecting on the memorable experiences and adventures that await us on our 10-day tour through Morocco.
Day 2: Ouarzazate, Rose Valley and Boumaln Dades
After a refreshing morning’s rest, we’ll begin our journey towards Boumaln Dades, immersing ourselves in the picturesque landscapes and charming villages along the way. These small villages, crafted from clay and stone, offer a glimpse into traditional Berber architecture and way of life.
Our route will take us through the renowned Rose Valley, a region famous for its fragrant roses and vibrant floral displays. Day 3: Boumaln Dades, Tinghir (Todra Gorge) Toroge, Erfoud and Merzouga
On the third day of our 10-day Morocco itinerary tour from Marrakech to the Merzouga desert, we’ll embark on an exciting journey from Marrakech to Todra Gorge in Tinghir city. Tinghir, also known as Tinerhir, is a captivating city nestled in the Drâa-Tafilalet region, situated south of the High Atlas and north of the Little Atlas in southeastern Morocco. As we traverse the breathtaking landscapes, we’ll witness the beauty of the Atlas Mountains and the expansive oasis that surrounds Tinghir.
Upon reaching Tinghir, we’ll have the opportunity to explore the city and soak in its rich culture and history. From there, we’ll continue our journey towards the Sahara desert, specifically the Erg Chebbi dunes in Merzouga. Along the way, we’ll stop for a delicious lunch in Toroge, a charming small city located in the Draa-Tafilalet province. Despite its size, Toroge boasts a renowned reputation for its culinary offerings, and we’ll have the pleasure of dining at a local restaurant celebrated for its cuisine.
After our satisfying lunch, we’ll resume our drive towards Erfoud, the last city before reaching the Sahara desert. Upon arrival, we’ll head directly to the desert, where an unforgettable experience awaits. Here, we’ll rendezvous with our camels and guide, who will accompany us on a mesmerizing journey through the towering sand dunes to our luxury camp.
Before reaching the camp, we’ll pause to witness the breathtaking spectacle of the sunset from atop the dunes, immersing ourselves in the serene beauty of the desert landscape bathed in the golden hues of twilight. Once the sun has set, our guide will lead us to the luxury camp, where we’ll spend the night surrounded by the tranquility of the Sahara desert under a blanket of stars. Day 4: Merzouga
On the first day of our 10-day Desert Tour from Marrakech to Casablanca, we’ll embark on a captivating journey through the desert landscapes, immersing ourselves in the rich culture and traditions of the region.
As the morning sun casts its warm glow over the desert, we’ll begin our day with a hearty breakfast and a breathtaking sunrise, setting the stage for the adventures ahead. Continuing our journey, we’ll make our way to the charming village of Khamliya, nestled amidst the desert sands. As the day draws to a close, we’ll make our way to Hassilabied, a serene village located just a short distance from Merzouga. Here, you’ll check into your hotel or riad and unwind after a day of exploration. Day 5: Hassilabied, Erfoud, Errachidia and Midelt
On the fifth day of our 10-day Morocco tour from Marrakech, we’ll set out on an enchanting journey through the picturesque landscapes of the Ziz Valley to Errachidia city.
As the morning sun illuminates the horizon, we’ll begin our day with renewed energy and excitement. After enjoying a delicious breakfast, we’ll embark on our scenic drive, following the winding roads that meander through the breathtaking Ziz Valley. Along the way, we’ll be treated to stunning vistas of lush palm groves, verdant oases, and towering cliffs, creating a truly unforgettable backdrop for our journey.
Our first stop of the day will be at a panoramic viewpoint overlooking Errachidia city, where we’ll pause for a few moments to take in the sweeping views of the surrounding landscape. Day 6: Midelt, Azrou, Ifrane and Fez
On the sixth day of our journey, we bid farewell to Midelt and set our sights on the captivating city of Fes. Our route takes us through a scenic drive, passing through charming towns and picturesque landscapes along the way.
As we venture onwards, we’ll make a stop in Zaida and explore some of the quaint villages that dot the countryside. Here, amidst the rugged beauty of the Atlas Mountains, we’ll pause to admire the natural surroundings and soak in the serene atmosphere.
Our journey then takes us to the enchanting Azrou forest, a verdant oasis teeming with diverse wildlife. Here, we’ll have the opportunity to encounter wild monkeys and observe their fascinating behavior in their natural habitat. Surrounded by towering trees and lush greenery, we’ll marvel at the beauty of the forest and appreciate the wonders of the natural world.
Continuing our drive, we’ll arrive in Ifrane, often referred to as the “Switzerland of Morocco” due to its pristine beauty and alpine-inspired architecture. As we travel to Rabat, we’ll pause intermittently to admire the stunning scenery and capture some memorable photographs of the landscapes along the way. Upon our arrival in Rabat, we’ll embark on a tour of the city’s notable landmarks and tourist attractions.
One of the highlights of our visit will be the Kasbah of the Udayas, a Berber-era royal fortress perched majestically overlooking the ocean. On the final day of our unforgettable journey, we’ll bid farewell to Rabat and embark on the road to Casablanca, the economic capital of Morocco. As we traverse through the scenic countryside, we’ll pass by quaint villages and bustling towns, pausing occasionally to capture the picturesque landscapes with our cameras.
Upon our arrival in Casablanca, we’ll be greeted by the magnificent sight of the Hassan II Mosque, one of the most iconic landmarks in the city. This impressive Islamic architectural masterpiece welcomes visitors of all backgrounds to admire its grandeur and splendor. We’ll have the opportunity to explore the mosque’s interior, provided we dress respectfully and observe the customs of the place.
Guided tours of the mosque are available in multiple languages, including French, English, German, and Spanish. During the tour, we’ll have the chance to marvel at the intricate details of the prayer hall and learn about the mosque’s rich history and significance.
