After exploring Casablanca, we’ll continue our journey to Rabat, the political and administrative capital of Morocco. Here, you’ll have the chance to visit the iconic Hassan Tower, an ancient minaret dating back to the 12th century. We’ll also explore the historic Oudaya Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its picturesque Andalusian gardens, narrow winding streets, and ancient fortress walls.
At the end of our day of exploration, we’ll check into a traditional riad nestled in the heart of Rabat’s charming Medina. This will provide you with an authentic and immersive experience of Moroccan culture and hospitality.
Day 2: Rabat, Asilah, Tangier and Chefchaouen
After enjoying a delightful breakfast at your riad, we’ll embark on a scenic drive towards Chefchaouen, with a captivating stop in Asilah along the way. Asilah, renowned for its vibrant art scene, beckons with its annual festival that transforms the city into a canvas adorned with colorful murals created by artists from around the globe. Our exploration of Asilah will include a visit to the Skalla fortress, offering panoramic views of the Medina and the azure waters of the ocean.
If time allows, we’ll take a leisurely drive through Tangier, allowing you to soak in the atmosphere of this historic city. From there, our journey continues as we traverse the picturesque foothills of the Rif Mountains en route to Chefchaouen. Known for its enchanting blue-washed buildings and labyrinthine streets, Chefchaouen is a true gem nestled in the heart of the Moroccan countryside. Get ready to immerse yourself in the unique charm and tranquility of this captivating town.
Day 3: Chefchaouen to Fez
After indulging in a delicious breakfast at your riad, our journey continues as we make our way to Fes, often referred to as “the Spiritual City of Morocco.” Here, you’ll embark on a captivating exploration of the city’s vibrant Medina and its winding alleys, immersing yourself in its rich cultural and historical heritage. Highlights of your morning excursion will include visits to iconic landmarks such as the Al Karaouine Mosque and University, renowned as the oldest university in the world, the exquisite Madrasa Bouanania, the traditional Tanneries, and the picturesque Najjarine fountain.
Following a satisfying lunch, our adventure continues beyond the Medina walls as we venture to see the majestic Royal Palace gate, stroll through the historic Jewish quarter known as “the Mellah,” and explore a pottery cooperative, where you can witness skilled artisans at work. In the afternoon, we’ll ascend to one of the city’s fortresses, treating you to breathtaking panoramic views of the entire Medina of Fes, offering a glimpse into its timeless beauty and architectural splendor.
